Been a while!

My computer has been having some hiccups so I haven't been able to load pictures. I still have some pictures to go through so I might be back with some more later.

I had trouble deciding on what kind of Christmas card to make this year so I did a whole lot of different ones. The top two are a couple of cards I took pictures of before sending out.

I have been trying to keep up with online challenges but time is going by to fast! I can't believe it is almost Christmas. I have to find some time to wrap presents before one of our family Christmases this weekend, so I guess I better get to it!

Thanks for stopping by,

Polka Dot Card for Raspberry Suite Challenge #19

While my little boy was taking his nap I decided to put together a card for Dawn's Color Challenge. I just bought a circle punch on sale from Michaels so decided to do a little polka dot action along with some puffy letters. I certainly enjoyed making this card with my free time today!
Hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!

EBTKS Sketch Challenge

This week I gave the EBTKS sketch challenge a try. My card below uses Papertrey Kraft cardstock, along with Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird" pattern paper. At first I was really unsure of this particular pattern paper, but I have grown to love it!! It is actually almost gone! I have been a little obsessed with sewing on cards lately, so I just had to add some thread!

Embellish Owl Color Challenge

When I saw the new challenge on the Embellish Magazine blog I was so excited! I absolutely love the colors and I am so in love with Owls right now, so it was the perfect challenge for me to try. I have been watching their challenges for a while but I always seem to miss the deadlines so this is the first one I caught in time. I used Papertrey's Spring Moss, Dark Chocolate, and Berry Sorbet along with ribbon by Offray. The sentiment is from PTI'S vintage pinic and the little owl is from Studio G, I also used PTI's vintage labels and Background basic text style 2.
Thanks for stopping bye,

A quick little card!

Well, this is my second post of the day, so I will make it a quick one. I put this little card together using some scrap packing material that came with my new PTI stuff!! I had seen crinkle paper somewhere before but I can't remember where and I currently don't have a crinkle machine so when I saw this I thought it would be perfect for a card!! All the material is from PTI except the sentiment which is from TAC and also the ribbon is Hobby Lobby.

Thanks for stopping by have a safe and happy weekend! We are off to see some family back home with my son dressed up like a porcupine.

Plum Crazy challenge

The minute I saw the "Plum Crazy" post on the Moxie Fab site I knew I had to do something! I absolutely love this color and it is perfect for the type of card I had in mind, vintage. Plum is such a rich color that screams vintage to me. I just got my PTI order and was super excited to use my new Vintage Label stamps, which is a must have in any ones stamp collection. I had been searching through the Marthat Stewart website a couple days ago and found quilling instructions. "She has such a beautiful site I just love everything Martha Stewart!!" So anyway all of those things together helped my card come together!
Thanks for stopping by,

A card kit

I have been writing back and forth to my sister in law (she is 13) since they moved farther away. I have been wanting to have a day where we work on cards, but it has been hard to get her over our way so I decided to put together a simple little card kit.
Here is a picture of the kit before sending it:
This last card is something I put together for my nephews 2nd birthday!

Dawn's Color Challenge #18

Dawn put a new color challenge up this week! I have been brainstorming for a couple days trying to come up with a good sketch to go with her very bright and cheery colors! The green was really throwing me off a little. I didn't have any of the New Leaf Green from from PTI so I went searching for something similiar at Hobby Lobby.

I thought I would give a Christmas card a try! I downloaded a holly leaf template from the Internet and used some Making Memories assorted buttons for the berries. The card stock is all PTI except for the green which is from paper studio.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Not your regular ruffles, a moxie fab challenge

I can't believe that it has been so long since my last update. I have been working on a lot of cards just haven't had time to update. I decided to give this Moxie Fab Challenge a shot. Cath challenged us to make a card or other project with ruffles. I am still waiting on a sewing machine so I decided to use some staples. I really like how my card turned out and I am just loving the dark chocolate and enchanted evening ribbon together.

WCMD Challenge #4

Well, this is the last and final challenge from Nicole's WCMD of challenges! She challenged us to use a dotted outline or masking on our card. I chose to use the dotted outline and I love it! It just makes the colors pop of the page. I used the little pumpkins from the vintage pinic stamp set ! I love this set because there are so many things you can do with it, Christmas, fall, birthdays, etc.
I decided to do a fall card with some ripe avocado ribbon!
Hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!!

World Card Making Challenge #3

The third challenge I tried my hand at was an Indian inspired card. I made my own little dress and used puff paint which I hope is alright, because I didn't have any rhinestones or jewels. (just getting started with cards) I also hope that because the main focus of my card isn't a stamped image that I can still be considered. I really had a lot of fun with every one of these challenges so far, as I read on someones blog Nichole is really taking us to a whole new level with these challenges.

Supplies:
PTI Plum Pudding
Stamp: Autumn Abundance Sentiment
Paper Company Metallic Ruby and Gold Crinkle Paper
Ribbon: Enchanted Evening

WCMD Challenge #2

Here is my card for the 2nd challenge Nicole posted on her blog yesterday. The challenge was to make a card inspired by Mexican Art. I was inspired by the bright colors of a blanket I found while searching though Mexican Art.

WCMD Challenge #1: Japan

Well I am so happy that I stumbled across the WCMD Challenge #1: Japan over at Nicole's PTI blog!! This was truly a challenge, but that is just what I was looking for on World Card Making Day! The first challenge of the day was to make a card inspired by Japan or Japanese Art. After researching the topic I discovered that there are a lot of Cherry Blossoms in Japanese Paintings. I love to paint flowers, so I decided to do a little painting.

Here is one of the many beautiful paintings that caught my eye:
When I saw the background color I knew that I had to use PTI Summer Sunrise as my background.

Here is my finished card:

I used some acrylic paints on some thick art paper and then cut out the flowers and placed them on the summer sunrise cardstock!
Well I hope you enjoyed my card and thank you so much for stopping by!

A little project

I have been planning to send out little cards with a photo to Ethan's Grandparents for a while now and just now got the project done. I was just going to send out wallets until I ran into a little recycling project. I used left over magnet strips to make a refrigerator photo magnet.

Here are the pictures and how they turned out!

Another little project was felt flowers, which I had seen over on Dawn's blog. I didn't have one scrap of fabric in the whole house so I just used felt that I had left over from teaching.

The blue card is my favorite! I still have a lot of practice to do as far as making my own embellishments but I am sure having fun learning!
Have a great day!

Everything but the kitchen sink challenge

I am so glad that I have found so many great blogs, they are not only inspirational but I am always finding a NEW challenge!! I love doing a challenge or two a week, maybe that sounds a little much but I have become a little obsessed with card making. I guess as a SAHM I need something to work my brain and a challenge sure does that for me! Anyway today I stumbled across a neat new challenge "EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK CHALLENGE" !! You should really check it out!

The deets of the challenge this month were to use something from the mail as part of your card or scrapbook page! I knew this would be a challenge for me, but I love a challenge!! I was super excited to get my mail today, but when it came it was only coupons and advertisements for hardware stores! I was bummed, but decided to take a second look at them and found this:
Here is my card. I used a paper studio pre-folded card, PTI bitty dot paper pti dark chocolate cardstock, bazzill yellow, colorbox brown, fiskars threading water punch and of course my mail. I know the arrangement is maybe a little off, but it is a lot better than I thought it would be! Hope you enjoy and give the challenge a try!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #17

Wow, I can't say how excited I am for this challenge!! I love these colors and the moment I saw the picture that goes with it I thought of a sketch in my head! My son was very content playing with his toys this morning so I went right to work!
I attempted to recreate the look of the fabric in the picture because it is so beautiful! I used a KI memories stamp set called Baby Time! I must mention I got this stamp set for $1.50 about a year ago!! woot woot! Anyway back to the card, I had just looked at Dawn's distressing flower post and thought it would be perfect for this card. I used all papertrey papers for this little project, along with a basic grey button, and random jewelry string to tie in the button.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!!

Moxie Fab Gradient is Radiant

Well, I am super excited to be sharing my card for the Moxie Fab Gradient is Radiant challenge! I think that this is such a neat challenge and there are so many great examples from other wonderful crafters so it wasn't hard to get inspired! Lately my favorite color has been green, everywhere I look I see something beautiful in green! So that is where the idea for my card came from. Yesterday as my son was playing I snapped a cute picture of him that had wonderful colors of green, so I used that as my example of greens I wanted to use.

I started brainstorming what stuff I could use for a awesome card. I looked through my equipment and saw my fiskars brick punch I bought months ago for like $4. I decided that I would use it for my greens to make little tiles! I also decided to do a Clean and Simple card, which is hard for me, because I am the type of person who makes everything complicated! So anyway to make a long story short here is my card! I kind of like it!! What do you think?

Well, I am back again with another Moxie Fab challenge card!! I just love this fabbo challenge and I just happened to have a great stamp set that is perfect for it! Today she asked us to create a card, home decor, etc that incorporates some kind of household item as its focal point. I remembered this card I made a while ago and decided to enter it. I just love baby shower cards and I just happen to have a baby shower this coming weekend! I made this little card today, but I am not quite sure if I am going to use it or not. It is really cute though!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #16

Well, I have the fall bug again! I already want to decorate with pumpkins and fall flowers! Ok, now to my card! When I saw the colors for Dawn's Color Challenge this week I knew I had to use my Vintage Picnic Stamps because it has the cute little pumpkins!

I really enjoyed this challenge (love the colors) and I really enjoy the time I get to spend with my stamping! As a SAHM I have enjoyed finding something that I can do for myself, so when I found these online challenges I was super excited! Thanks so much for stopping by, I enjoy your comments so much!
